Can barre help you lose weight?

Let me start off by saying this:


When I worked out to lose weight, I was at the peak of my anxiety. I looked like a skeleton and felt terrible. 


The minute I stopped working out to ‘lose the 5lbs,’ and I started working out to feel good about myself, I started to build my confidence. 


Now that I have gotten that out of the way, let’s address the main question.



Yes. Barre will help you lose weight. But there are so many variables that factor into this…


What was your fitness level prior to starting barre?


If we’re getting really specific, it also depends on what your body fat percentage is when you start doing barre. 


While barre will not make you bulky, it will help build muscle. And muscle weighs more than fat. So, you’ll need to factor that in as well. 



In the end, remember this: as long as you feel good, the number on the scale doesn’t matter. Workout to feel good and build confidence. Looking like Beyonce is just a byproduct of that.
