Which is better: barre or pilates?

I am a firm believer in making decisions for yourself. So, I will not tell you which is better, because I believe that is a personal decision. However, what I will do is provide you information on both, so you can make the best decision for yourself.

Pilates: An exercise that enhances endurance, works the muscles, and improves balance, posture, and flexibility. Pilates helps to work on smaller muscle groups, stabilizing muscle groups, and the core. Building those muscles can help you complete everyday tasks more easily and lower your risk of injury.

Barre: Barre is a series of exercises that focus on isometric strength training (holding your body still while you contract a specific set of muscles) combined with high reps of small range-of-motion movements generally done with light weights (2-3lbs). Some benefits of barre class are muscle definition, improved posture, and increased flexibility. This low-impact workout combines strength and cardio so you’re building muscle and burning fat at the same time. Muscle burns 15 times as many calories as fat, and barre focuses on strengthening the muscle. So, the stronger you get, the more calories you’ll burn.
